Nifty Findings: Sweaters!

It is official  winter has come like a slap in the face. This week so far has been so cold! I mean, knew the snow would bring some chilly nights, but it occasionally brings sunny days. But not these past couple days. It feels like winter is in full force! It's time to dig out all the heavy duty sweaters, jackets, scarves and mittens! While I was thinking about this chilly weather, I realized that I needed some new sweaters. I want to buy something big, thick and cozy. (But still cute and fashionable) So, I went digging around on the interweb. And I wanted to share with you some of my nifty findings!

Let's just say my list of sweaters to buy quickly became, sweaters that I WISH I could buy. But here are my favorite findings!

1: Bear Sweater                 2: Owl Sweater

I think it's safe to say I need an animal sweater! Both of these look so cozy and cute!

3: Yellow Sweater                  4: Striped Sweater

I love all the sweaters on Modcloth and Ruche! But I'm especially in love with these two!

Don't forget to keep warm and bundle up!!

Nifty Findings: Bows

I haven't always been a fan of bows, but recently I love them! I always thought that they were a bit girly. I didn't really think it matched me very well. Until I saw a mint green polka dot bow! I just had to have it. Mostly because I adore the color green and I'm totally smitten for polka dots. Afterwards I realized that bows  are the perfect thing to make an outfit look fun and not too girly.

Bows are actually very handy to have around as well. You can spice up any old hairdo with a bow! Makes a bad hair day better almost instantly. (Depending on the bow and current situation you find yourself in.) But  read THIS awesome blog post on how to style a bow in your hair. I'm personally a under the bun kinda girl, but that's just because I'm a fan of the really high bun. (Yes, the word bun is making my giggle a little bit.)

My newest addition to my bow collection are these two lovely bows form SPRINKLES CORNER. I love these bows so much! They are nice and big so they don't get lost in my thick messy hair. Plus aren't those colors just awesome. Perfect for fall outfits!

I'm also very certain that I NEED this bow necklace from the lovely shop FREENA. Isn't it just lovely! Bows are so perfect for adding a little something special on to anything! A little girly.. sure. Is that a bad thing? Not at all. Don't fret if you don't have any bows. You can learn how to make one HERE. Which looks super easy, just have to find some really cute fabrics. Or if you want something for your hair you can make THIS bow. That hair comb looks like it's so comfy in your hair and wouldn't pull at all. I'm going to have to make one of those these days and add it to my bow obsession.

Bows are so cute! sigh.

Nifty Findings: Halloween

One of my favorite thing about blogs is all the creative ideas that people share! Here are some of my favorite Halloween findings that just brilliant and creative!

I think one of the most important parts of Halloween is the costume. The blog OH HAPPY DAY has so many cute ideas! This lady is seriously one of the smartest moms ever! I hope I'm a creative mom like she is! Check out her HOMEMADE HALLOWEEN section. Such cute ideas! I particularly like the little artists costumes. Oh and this strong man costume. So adorable!

You know whats better then adorable little kid costumes?! That's right, family costumes! Now these bear heads are just the coolest! The three little bears! How cool is that! The ladies at A BEAUTIFUL MESS make it seem fairly easy. They always write easy to follow instructions. I love that they are slightly creepy.  I kinda want to make one just to have. It would probably make someones day if I was just riding my bike around with one of these on. Or if you want something a little more cutesy. HERE is this lovely tutorial on making a cute lion hoodie! So cute, easy to make and will keep you warm and snugly against the fall weather!

I've never really been one for decorations. But if you're going to have a Halloween party, you need some killer decorations. These swizzle sticks are so easy to make! Check it out HERE! SHRIMP SALAD CIRCUS always has the cutest crafts that are so simple and quick to do!

How cute is the wreath?! Halloween is one of the holidays that it's just fun to decorate the out side of your house. I love walking around seeing everyone's creep decorations. I love this wreath tutorial from KYLA ROMA's blog. Just a perfect amount of cute and creepy.

I think I'm starting to enjoy Halloween maybe a little too much.

Nifty Findings: Fall

As you all probably already know, I'm just smitten for fall. Today I'm sharing my favorite fall findings of the interweb! First off how lovely are all THESE ideas from A Beautiful Mess blog. Pumpkin pie milkshake?! How awesome does that sound. Plus a cold fall morning with a bowl of baked oatmeal! Sounds pretty much amazing!

Plus the change in the weather also means a change in clothes! Time for sweaters, scarves, hats and boots! I wouldn't mind having all of the THESE outfits! And I need to get a pair of THESE shoes! They are sure to keep my toes warm! I want to wear more hats this year, maybe something like THIS or a headband like THAT.

But fall is never complete with out a nice cup of tea and a good book. Don't those two just fit so well together? Even if it is a bit cliche. But I need to get myself one of THESE cute, sturdy mugs and some of THIS tea to put in it! I'm still working on the book part. On the look out for something cozy and fun to sink my nose into. Especially with all these rainy days we've been having, perfect cuddle in bed and read weather.

Finally to top off all the fall-ness, some fall mixes! 8tracks.com is my new favorite addiction! I'm in love with THIS mix. Oh, and THIS one too!

Phew! Lots of linky love today! Bundle up and embrace this fall awesomeness before its gone.

Bonus video! (For some reason Two Weeks by Grizzly Bear and the movie the Red Balloon always give me the feeling of fall. )

Nifty Findings: Tee's!

Fall is creeping upon us faster then I had anticipated! That means time to get out the layers and whip out some tees! Fall is perfect tee shirt weather. The summer is just too hot to wear cotton tees, although they can be handy at night, summer and tank tops are the way to go. In winter you can't have your arms all exposed and need to layer on a jacket with your tee. BUT in the fall a tee shirt is the perfect way to go! So today I'm sharing you some of me favorite places to get awesome tees! I wear a lot of tee shirts, I mean a L O T of tee shirts! That's one of the reasons why we started making and selling tees! Why buy someone else screen printed tees when we could make our own. Most of the tees that I do wear are ones that I've made. (Or messed up and can't sell.) But when I do buy tees, this is where I get them from.

My first favorite is Threadless. I love these guys cause they make witty and artsy comfy tees! The way they get there designs is supa cool also. People can upload there designs and then they can get voted into production.(Find out more HERE.) So even if you don't design tees. You can still go and vote for the ones you like and would buy. And if you design tees this is a great way to get it into production. Everyone wins! They have some cool challenges you can participate in as well! Also if you have patience you can catch these suckers on sale! Some times they have 10$ tees! How awesome is that! They always have some sorta awesome deal going on!

Second is Society 6. The thing I love about Society 6 is that they have a lot of my favorite artists. You can get stuff by Chis Piascik, Marc Johns and Nan Lawson. Just be careful when your on there site, because there is so much awesomeness on there you will get sucked in! Also if your indecisive like me trying to pick just a few to buy is almost impossible. Luckily I've Zoei to remind me that I can't spend all my money on tee shirts. The feel of these tees aren't your average screen print. They are more soft, kinda like iron on transfers or something. Which I kinda like as a change up from your normal heavy ink tee. Oh, they also now have tote bags! Need to get me one of those!

And finally is Redbubble. They have a pretty good selection and are all independent designers. Basically anyone can upload there art work and start selling. They've built a pretty nifty lil' community. Which is way awesome! They also have some cool contests which I've been checking out lately  Just haven't committed to entering any of them yet.

Phew! Enough ranting! Go buy some tees!!

Nifty Findings: Food

Their are few things that I love more then food. Eating it, looking at it and smelling it. Food is just awesome. Although I don't really cook often its something that I really enjoy. I'm sure I enjoy the eating more then then cooking. But luckily for me Zoei loves the cooking part. Great pair aren't we? I've been finding all these things that I want to cook lately! I've got this weird thing for berries lately. Like THIS black berry lime bar or THAT, blueberry key lime tea cake! Berry and lime must go well together. But Zoei isn't the biggest fan of berries, so It'll be tricky to get her to cook these for me.

Recipes that she'll for sure try out are THIS one for rice pudding or THAT one for homemade marshmallows. Zoei is just smitten for marshmallows. She also loves spicy things. So maybe I'll try to make THESE lollipops for her! I think she'll love them.

My newest favorite food blog is Sprinkle Bakes. She's got some awesome recipes! Like THIS one for French toast muffins or THAT one for a vanilla pocky cake! Which I think would be so awesome to make for some ones birthday, with big sparkler kind of candles on the top! Or maybe a scallop cake like THIS one. Seems pretty easy to do and looks amazing!

I can feel the pounds being added on to my waste line just looking at these pictures. Meh, who cares winter is approaching fast and the extra insulation will be good. So I'm totally going to spoil myself with THESE nutella rolls. Seem so simple to make! I'm sure I can handle that without burning anything. Hopefully!

Nifty Findings: Art

I find when I'm roaming the inter-web I'm always coming across amazing artists. I just wanted to share a couple of these nifty findings. First is Sophie Lecuyer. An amazing french artist who has a unique illustration style and tons of layer inky goodness through out her work. I found her HERE. My favorite project of hers is Metamorphoses. She has done screen prints on light boxes and when you turn it on the image changes. Such a brilliant idea and done so wonderfully. Check out her work. She does tons of etchings, sketches, illustrations, screen prints, mono prints and textiles. The lady is just awesome when it comes to utilizing techniques.

Second is Nathaniel Russell. This guy has an awesome style that is witty and simple. I love artists that are distinct and you can instantly recognize it anywhere. I can't wait to get my hands on some of his prints or records. I'm also smitten over THIS post from his blog. Check out his work. You'll for sure find something that'll make you smile.

Third, are awesome sketches by Megan. I found on her blog Megan-Ta da! Also THIS lovely interview with  Marina Muun. Who has such a sweet and unique style that I just adore.

Marina Munn

Finally we've got a new lil' video from Rone, an amazing street artist from Australia. My heart just melts for some good street art. His style is awesome. Hes got layery drippy goodness all over the place. He works on a massive scale that just blows me away. The video is put together really well so you can see a little insight to his process. I mean, the guy is just cool.

Phew! Hope I haven't been too rambly. I just love art so much. I can't help but want to ramble and share it with everyone! Hope you got some inspiration from these guys, I know I did!

Nifty Findings: Cameras

As I was roaming around on the internet looking for more camera projects I ran across some neato things that I wanted to share! First off, this project call the PHOTO SWAP. I love the idea of this project and the fact that it supports using film cameras, which I love! I haven't participated in this one yet, but once I get time I'm totally signing up! The lady also has a nifty BLOG and posts tons of cool lomography pictures and shes got some cool cameras. Also after reading one of my favorite blogs THE DAINTY SQUID. I'm on a mission to save up my pennies and buy a  Polaroid land camera. Shes also got some great tips and a lovely review of Instax cameras. Which is oh so helpful! I found THESE tips from the brilliant minds at Photojojo that have some great ways to tweak with your disposable camera. I've also been contemplating getting THIS darkroom in a box kit. Which just seems like something I would have way too much fun with.

My heart does melt for photography!
