Hello March!

So much to do, so little time. Things that are ON for the month of MARCH.

1) Commit to the photo-a-day challenge.
I did really good about the photo-a-day challenge in January. Kinda fizzled out at the end and then forgot about February. But now redeeming myself this month!
2) Re-amp our business cards/logo/banners and all that fun stuff.
I love our logo, but change is good. I think its good to be cleaning things up a bit. Lots of lovely ideas floating around in my head, now I just need to do something about it.
3) Take more photos and get those rolls of film developed!
I love my old film cameras. Just been getting to lazy to get the darn things developed. I guess march is turning into the month of getting stuff DONE.
4) Make some awesome tees!
I've been posting about designs and doodles I've been working on. Now we just need to get printing!
5) Scare Zoei at least 5 times this month.
Usually isn't too hard. Hiding behind the door works just fine. BUT that means waiting patiently behind the door, which gets boring. Oh so worth it.

What are you doing this month? Time to make a list!

PS. I'm keeping on track with THIS or THAT desktop calendar!

Music Tuesday?

Okay, so I realize that it is Tuesday, and NOT Monday. So yes I dropped the ball on Music Monday, but I have found a great little video from one of my new favorite bands, so it totally makes up everything! Lately I have been listening to a TON of Imagine Dragons. I'm sure you have heard of them. They are a local UT band, that recently got signed onto a major record label (which is super cool if you ask me!) Anyways, I love their new stuff, and their old stuff. I hope you do too! Today, I have just one little video treat for you, but soon I will create a whole playlist!

Happy rest of the week to you!

New Tee Shirt Designs

So, I've been working on a bunch of new tee shirt designs. I really want to do a new tee shirt that is mostly based around some words. Now, having a tee shirt with words on it is very tricky mostly because it has to be something that most people will find witty and understand it. Because nobody is going to want to buy a shirt with a inside joke on it. Then on the other hand you have people who don't want to wear something funny, but profound and unique. So, now you see the battle I have trying to come up with what a tee shirt should say. Words say a lot about the person wearing it and the people who make it. Now don't get me wrong, images can have the same affect as type. But with images you can get away with more. Someone will buy a shirt because it looks "cool" even if that image has no significant meaning to it. Here is one that I've been working on. START SOMETHING NEW. What do you think?  Does it have any meaning to you? Personally it reminds me to create and have new ideas every day. Would you want to wear that statement?

Something to think about.

Music Monday: Mike Pinto

Music Monday Music Monday Music Monday!! Its my favorite time of the week yet again! I love Mondays because it allows me to tell all of you lovely people out there what music I am listening to, and hopefully gives you something to groove to on this Monday. And hopefully it makes your Monday a little brighter! Today, we are going back to my favorite genre (reggae), and talking Mike Pinto.

So for some weird reason Mike Pinto has come up in quite a few convos lately, and since I LOVE his music, I thought, what the heck, lets blog about him! I have been listening to Mr. Pinto for quite a while now, so how I have gone this long with out blogging about him beats me, but i'm doing it now, so don't blame me for holding out so long!

So lets jump into it, I love his music oh so much, I love me some reggae, and I love me some singer songwriter, throw both of these into a blender, and what comes out? A lovely blend that sounds like Mike Pinto. (yeah realize that analogy went a little weird) So you get the point, 2 great genres, 1 great artist, and a ton of songs to dance your pants off to.

I have put together a couple of my favorite songs, I tried to get a variety, to give all of you Mike Pinto newbies a little taste of everything, and the following playlist is what I came up with. Most of them are pretty up beat, cause I do in fact go running to his music, and dance my face off each morning to the Pinto. (Ask Remi, she gets sick of me blasting it EVERY morning, but there is something about it that gets my day going!)

Enjoy the music, and I apologize if any of it is a little vulgar, but here is your warning: Mike has a potty mouth, so don't blast this playlist any where you don't want any naughty words being said (example: if you work at a call center, yeah did that once.)

Have a swell week!

Let's be friends: Gracie Allen

Gracie Allen. The better counter part to George Burns and the lady that never fails to make me chuckle. Let's be friends. Now, we all know how much of a sucker I am for old TV shows and movies. Lately my new old favorite is The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show. This show comes on late and is on a obscure channel like all the best old TV shows. But the one thing that makes this show is Gracie Allen. She is an amazing comedian. Very subtle and witty. Starting out on the radio (Yes, it's that old) and having one of the first comedic TV shows and being in multiple movies. Gracie you never disappoint. We should be friends. I'm sure I could help you get out of the crazy messes you get yourself into and let's face it Blanches laugh is awfully annoying. One afternoon with you I'm sure would be the highlight of my life.

If you haven't seen this show before. Look it up! Its totally worth it! Here's a little tid-bit below.

Valentine's Day

Yup, its that time of year again. The time of year that you can't go to the store with out stumbling upon something pink, heart shaped and covered in chocolate or something of an unhealthy sweet nature. So it comes, most of the time unwanted. That dreadful pretend holiday, Valentine's Day. The idea is a good one I suppose. A day dedicated to love, doesn't sound half bad. If only it was matched up with reality. The reality that you really don't want  to spend money on that some one special, but feel obligated too. Because why you say? Some one along time ago said you should. So why not just ignore it? Don't do that my friend, people will be upset. Then you will be upset. Then the heaviness of this so called holiday sets in. Do not fear. Go cut out hearts, get some glitter and bake something overly sweet. You'll thank me later. Hopefully you will survive the weight of it ALL. Besides its only one day out of the year so why not whip out some glitter.

Every year me and Gold Canary whip out the glitter and tunes and make mix CD.  This years mix is called Love is Strange. Because as it might be fairly obvious, love can become quite strange. Plus everyone loves a good mix CD. Especially when it involves love songs (or NOT love songs) This year we used THESE library cards for the playlist and THOSE bags with a little bit of spray paint and SOME little heart stickers.
On top of it all Gold Canary created some lovely cards.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

Music Monday: Fall in Love

Alrighty Music Monday lovers, and/or any lovers out there. Valentines day is tomorrow, so I thought it would be fitting to post some of my favorite love songs. But before we get to the lovey music I have just a few things to say.

1. Do you know how hard it is to choose just a couple of songs out of the many many love songs out there?
2. Very hard.
3. So how does one choose you ask? Pretty simple, I listen to it and if I think, if some guy sang this to me, my heart would melt, then it made the list.
4. Why yes, this still left me when a TON of songs.
5. It was in fact so hard to choose, I just ended up shuffling all of them and choosing the top songs, I may have or may have not subconsciously kept pushing shuffle until I was happy..

Otay lovey doveys-- hope you enjoy this Valentine playlist, and have a super Happy Valentines day! (Insert a ton of hearts here) I will not do the less than sign and three thing, cause it looks silly and I hate when people do that.
Happy hearts and sugary candy day
-- Gold Canary

On a side note, I LOVE Mason Jennings', Method to my Madness, but I love it even more when Remi sings it, so give her a cookies, or write her a letter and mail it to her and im sure she just might sing it for you!

Misery Guts

While perusing one of my favorite art blogs, BOOOOOOOM. I came across this fantastic video. Don't we all just feel like Harriet sometimes. I know I sure do.

Also, a drawing I did forever ago and found on my computer. Don't you love when you find things you've forgotten about. I've been digging up old drawings lately. It's amazing how fast time flies. More doodles to come soon. Hopefully if I don't run out of time.

Foot What?!?

So I’m sure you are wondering what this could possibly be about, and you are going to be shocked when I tell you. So what is it about? It’s about football. Yes I know it seems weird that a girl like me would blog about football, which is the correct thinking, because I am in fact blogging about the fact that I know nothing about and dislike football.

So where did this come from?? Well since the super bowl is coming up, and football is super popular around this time, i have noticed that a ton of my facebook friends have been posting stuff about football, and changing their profile pics to be of their favorite players, or logos of their favorite teams. Which brings me to the fact that i have figure out about myself: I know nothing at all about football. Actually that’s a lie, I know there is something called a quarter back, and I only know that from that joke about the coach going to the bank to get his QUARTER BACK. AHHH HAHAHA (Evidently I love jokes written by 9 year olds) That would be the extent of my knowledge of the sport. So I thought what the heck I should probably find out more about this sport of football, so I have been researching it a little this weekend. What have I found out? I do not like football. Hate me if you must, but it’s true, I Zoei do NOT like football.

So all you foot ballers out there, I hope you enjoy the super bowl, I however will partake in some super bowl foods (bbq wings, chips and dip, some queso if you will) and I will kick up my feet and watch me some puppy bowl. Yeah!

Good luck to your team, whom ever you shall be rooting for, but this girl will not be watching any such sport this year.

New Print.

So a while ago I stumbled upon this girl that does these awesome illustrations. I'm such a sucker for illustration. Anyways, I asked her if we could print one of her drawings on a tee shirt. I really just wanted to do this shirt to be able to wear some art. That's the whole reason we started screen printing, wearable art. Just most of the time its our own art and not someone elses. So this one was different in a surprisingly fun way. It turned out way sweet and now I've new clothes to wear! So, check out her BLOG . I don't know much about her but shes got some neat-o photos on there also some drawings. The downside it is all is in Swedish. BUT, if you have time translate a bit of it, its pretty interesting. Although i'm sure it would be better if you knew Swedish. Even if you don't read it just gander at the photos, there are some spectacular photos on there! Trust me!
